“Encantarias” is the name by which a particular type of fairy is known in Ribagorza. These are the “lavanderas” who live at the bottom of ravines and rivers. Extremely elusive, they are difficult to see, although some legends tell of people who manage to come into contact with them. Anyone who does so can become rich and lucky and enter into a magical world.
